We don’t have many rules. Nor are they different from those that exist in other museums.
In summary:
- Please, do not touch the pieces of the collection. They are unique samples, created by nature after hundreds, thousands or millions of years. That makes them very valuable and delicate.
- Follow the recommended order for the visit.
- Lots to see and very interesting. Despite the emotion you may feel, do not raise your voice so as not to bother the rest of the visitors.
- Help us keep the rooms and showcases clean.
- If you have any doubts, you can ask the IGME staff.
- Follow the instructions of the museum staff.
General rules
- If a guided tour has been requested, the time set for its start must be respected. For delays of more than 15 minutes, the Museum does not guarantee the completion of the visit.
- It is requested that the cancellation of the visit or the assistance to any activity be carried out as soon as possible, in order to avoid unnecessary trips to our guides and to facilitate reservations for other visitors at that time.
- Taking into account the security of the Museum, groups and minors will always be accompanied by their managers.
- Visitors, and especially groups, must circulate through the Museum and stairs calmly and with respect for other people, moderating their tone of voice at all times.
- Taking photos without flash for personal purposes is allowed (general photos of the Museum, group photos, souvenir photos, etc.). The photos of the pieces intended for professional use are regulated by an official rate published in the BOE. If you need to photograph the collections for this purpose, consult the information point of the Museum about how to proceed.
- Keep the facilities clean as they are part of a public space that we must take care of. It is not allowed to consume food or drinks inside the Museum.
- Collaborate with the conservation of the Museum’s furniture and do not lean on the showcases to take notes.
- Please activate the mute option on mobile phones.
Without exception, visitors must attend to the instructions of the Museum staff at all times.
Specific recomendations for school groups
- For a better use of the experience, it is advisable to prepare the visit in the classroom before coming to the Museum. To this end, consult the Teacher’s Guide and the Student’s Workbook, available on the web.
- The Museum does not have lockers to store personal belongings, so it is recommended that everything that is not necessary be left on the bus.
- The groups must always be accompanied by the teacher or responsible person.
Thank you very much for following our regulation
