The fossil collection is made up of about 53,000 specimens. Of them, a wide representation is exhibited in the permanent exhibition that reaches more than 12,600 pieces.

A large part of the collections come from works carried out by illustrious personalities in Spanish geology and mining, such as Casiano de Prado, Lucas Mallada, Guillermo Schulz or Florentino Azpeitia, among others.
