The analytical and minerallurgical LABORATORIES of IGME have advanced equipment for carrying out a wide range of chemical tests and analyses, such as chemical analysis of water, petrographic, geotechnical and mineral processing, carrying out the official characterization of natural mineral waters
Determined physical-chemical control parameters: color, solids in suspension, conductivity, radioactivity and isotopic measurements, pH, organic matter, majority and minority anions and cations, eg: chloride, fluoride, sulfate, sulfur, nitrate, nitrite, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium etc. Pollutants: phenols, cyanide, metals, hydrocarbons, pesticides, volatile compounds, etc.
Available techniques: gravimetric, volumetric, atomic absorption and emission spectroscopic (majority and trace elements), continuous flow molecular absorption spectroscopic (majority ions in water), IR spectrophotometry (TOC), electrometry (pH, fluorides, cyanides, conductivity ), GC/MS chromatography (VOC, pesticides, PAH's), ion chromatography (anions at trace level: bromide, bromate, nitrite, nitrate, sulfate, fluoride, chlorides and phosphate), liquid scintillation (Tritium) and radiochemical technique (alpha activity and full beta). See Accreditation. ENAC 62/LE-169
The request for analysis/tests must be sent to the email laboratorios@igme.es indicating the number of samples, the tests requested for each of them and any information that is applicable to the request made.
Within an estimated period of 24-48 hours, the budget will be sent to the applicant, indicating the term for carrying out the analysis/tests and the amount of sample required.
As acceptance of the offer, the budget must be returned signed and sealed by the applicant, via email, to laboratorios@igme.es
Sample shipping address:
Once the budget is accepted, the samples must be sent to the following address (it is not necessary to attach the documentation again)
Instituto Geológico y Minero de España, CSIC
Laboratorios Generales
C/ La calera nº1, Tres Cantos
28760 Madrid
(Indicate reference of the accepted budget)
Results:
After completing the analyses/tests, the results will be sent via email to the applicant. The applicant must indicate in the initial request if the excess sample is required to be returned. In this case, the applicant must reply to the results email indicating the date on which the samples will be collected. As in the delivery, the samples will remain at the reception with the codes assigned to their reception and the applicant will be able to withdraw at any time within the opening hours of the center.
For any questions or additional information, please send an email to laboratorios@igme.es
