Ph.D. in Geological Sciences, UGR-2005.
Specialized in Stratigraphy and Sedimentology, Structural Geology, and Tectonics, based on Geological Mapping. Research activity focused on geological mapping, stratigraphy, and tectonics of evaporitic, siliciclastic, and carbonate materials.
Engaged in Quaternary Geology, with collaborations in Active Tectonics, Geomorphology, and Geoarchaeology, participating in projects for public and private organizations (Andalusian Regional Government, Ministry of Culture of the Region of Murcia, Diputación de Jaén, IGEA, EGM). Work has been conducted in materials from the External Areas of the Betic Cordillera in southern Spain. Field geologist in the Geothematic Mapping Project of the Dominican Republic, under the SYSMIN-UE Program (2007), carrying out the mapping of 10 geological sheets at a scale of 1:50,000; collaborating in the creation of 3 geomorphological and active processes maps at a scale of 1:100,000, and contributing to the preparation of the specific stratigraphy and sedimentology report for the 64 1:50,000 sheets of the work block.
Participated in the International Project PLANAGEO, for the geological mapping of the Republic of Angola (2014-2015).
2015-present: Contracted Professor at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Alicante.
One of his current research lines focuses on the stratigraphy and structure of the "Cazorla Arc" in the Betic Cordillera of southern and southeastern Spain, aiming to establish the relationships between large structures and the activity of Triassic clays and evaporites, as well as their connection to major fault systems such as the Socovos-Calasparra Fault (NE transfer of the Arc) or the Tíscar Fault (SW transfer). In recent years, he has conducted research in the northernmost part of the Betic Cordillera and its transition to the Guadalquivir Basin, where the abundant Triassic saline materials influence the structure and evolution of the sector.
Author of over 60 scientific publications and presentations at specialized geological congresses .
Consultant for private companies working in the field of applied geology (INYPSA), geotechnics, geological engineering, hydrogeology, and geophysics (IGEA, EGM).
