Annual meeting of the Earth Observation and Geohazards Expert Group (EOEG) that was held at the CSIC premises in Madrid. This group belongs to the European geological services organization EuroGeoSurveys and aims to connect the scientific capabilities offered by Earth Observation techniques with the study of the impact of geological hazards in Europe. The meeting, organized this year by IGME-CSIC, was attended by representatives of the geological services of Greece (EAGME), France (BRGM), Germany (BBD), Poland (PGI), Austria (GeoSphere), Lithuania, Portugal (LNEG), Italy (ISPRA), Catalonia (ICGC), Albania (GSA), Czech Republic (SEZNAM), Netherlands (TNO), Slovenia (GeoZS) and United Kingdom (BGS). Aspects such as increasing the role of Geological Hazards in the Geological Service for Europe (GSEU) project, the potential of the use of European Ground Motion Serivce (EGMS) InSAR data by European geological services and the future strategy of the EOEG were discussed.
