The UPM will provide its collaboration in Activity-2; particularly in the characterization of geological formations for fluid storage. In particular, through simulation, it will determine the maximum operating pressure, propagation conditions and leakage of H2. It will study the mechanical conditions based on the pressure gradients expected in the storage formation. It will carry out the dynamic simulation (4D), considering the inputs of the 3D geological and geomechanical model.

The UPM will provide its expert team in subsoil and energy exploration, rock mechanics, physicochemical processes and fluid diffusion in geological formations. The works described are aligned with the objective of developing the technological base for the storage of green Hydrogen in depleted reservoirs and cavities.
