I was graduated in Geology from the University of Salamanca, Spain (1999) and read my PhD thesis, also in this university on November 2004. I got my permanent position in the Instituto Geológico y Minero de España on 2008. As a specialist in Marine Micropaleontology, I work with Foraminifera (Planktonic and Benthic) associations to determinate their response to the climatic and oceanographic changes. In addition, I use to work with other proxies (sedimentology and elemental and isotopic geochemistry) to reinforce paleoceanographic and paleoclimatologic models. My research interests lie on the abrupt climatic changes at orbital, millennial and centennial time scales and the variability in deep and shallow water sedimentary systems, marine sedimentary processes as deep-sea turbiditic environments and contourites. Finally, I also collaborate with other scientists and specialists on cartography, seismic and geophysics at IGME.
