Flotation pilot plant at Lújar Mine (Órgiva, Granada)

Flotation pilot plant at Lújar Mine (Órgiva, Granada), exploitation of the flourite and lead mineralizations.izaciones de fluorita y plomo.

Flotation in metallurgy is a process used to separate and concentrate minerals based on the difference in the surface properties of each mineral. The exploitation of fluorite, in a Pb-F-(Zn) deposit in the Sierra de Lújar, is carried out by Minera de Órgiva, S.L. It is an underground mine, with a complex geological structure and difficult treatment, an example of sustainable mining.
Fluorspar is the main fluorine ore, of great use in the chemical and metallurgical industry, and is considered a critical raw material by the European Union. The mines in Asturias and Andalusia contribute to increasing the supply capacity of this mineral within the EU.
