The objective is to develop the methodologies necessary to establish a European Subsurface Information Framework, on- and offshore. This development is necessary and fundamental as a basis for all applied geoscientific challenges facing Europe. To achieve this goal, metadata will be collected from geological maps and datasets, a subsurface data model will be created in 2D and 3D at multiple scales, and new and improved scientific vocabularies, workflows and tools for geomodelling and 3D visualisation will be developed.
