Improving the hydrogeological knowledge of the Mancha Occidental II groundwater body.
From July 2019 to December 2022, the CUAS MOII and the CN IGME-CSIC have been collaborating under a Provision of Services related to advice and supervision of actions to improve the hydrogeological knowledge of the Mancha Occidental II groundwater body, carried out in different activities, among other things, a Piezometric Observation Network managed by the CUAS MOII has been developed, annual reports have been provided in reference to the Special Drought Plan, as well as annual reports on the quality of groundwater. The good relations between both entities and the fruitful results obtained have led to the formalization of the Contract to continue the work in the territory defined by the Mancha Occidental II groundwater body, and to continue advancing in the hydrogeological knowledge of this groundwater body.
Collaboration with CUAS irrigators to improve knowledge of the Mancha Occidental II groundwater mass and advance groundwater management.
Activity 1. Technical advice for the drafting of the different points to be included in the Technical Proposal that the CUAS MOII plans to present at the Ciudad Real Administration, in order to formalize a collaboration agreement on matters related to groundwater, such as dissemination and training for users on agricultural and water issues, advice on equipment to be installed in the Mancha Occidental II groundwater body, subsidies for sustainable crops and economic valuation.
Field campaign for the taking of groundwater samples at the established points.
Study of the existing meteorological stations in the Mancha Occidental II groundwater body, the registration of each of them, to recommend the ideal locations for the new meteorological stations that are intended to be installed.
Bibliographic compilation and obtaining existing data and their treatment in reference to the relationship and differentiated behavior between the upper aquifer and the lower aquifer.
