Description
The main target of the “Departamento de Aguas y Cambio Global” of the CN IGME-CSIC is to study the status and vulnerability of water resources and analyze sustainable management strategies. The role of groundwater and its strategic importance in the face of climate and/or global change are highlighted. The main research lines are:
- study of the Status (quantity and quality) and vulnerability of water resources and their suitability for different uses
- Planning and management of resources and reserves, and
- Water resources and facing climate and/or global change impacts.
The “Departamento de Aguas y Cambio Global” is structured into three Research Groups:
- “Recursos Hídricos, ecosistemas asociados y cambio climático y global (REACT)”
- “Hidrogeología aplicada y geotermia somera (GI-HAGS)”
- “Hidrogeología ambiental y cambio global (GI-HYGLO-Lab)”
