José F. Mediato Arribas is a researcher at the Spanish Geological Survey (IGME) since July 2018. He completed his PhD at the Complutense University of Madrid, in the field of stratigraphy and sedimentary basin analysis. For the first ten years, he studied sedimentary and geochemical records of boreholes and outcrops of Mesozoic and Tertiary deposits. During the last 14 years, he has been actively participating in national and international research programs in the field of CO2 storage and raw material. He has participated and managed several projects focused on CO2 and H2 storage geological (14, Nationals and European projects and industrial contracts), 3D geological modelling (4 European projects) and fluid emissions associated with fracturing (4 MINECO Projects), integrating geophysical, structural, geochemical and stratigraphic data. Since 2021 he is the coordinate of the Geoenergy group of the Institute of Geological and Mining of Spain.
