Beatriz Benjumea is a Senior Scientist at IGME-CSIC. She obtained her PhD in Physical Sciences at the University of Granada. Her research work focuses on the characterisation and imaging of subsurface geological structures and processes using geophysical methods, especially active and passive seismic methods and geophysical well logging. The research line also includes the integration of geophysical models. She has participated in projects financed by national and international institutions as well as by private companies with a wide range of applications such as: climate change, geological hazards and, in particular, in recent years in energy transition. She has been guest editor of the journal Near Surface Geophysics for two special volumes on Urban Geophysics. She has supervised one PhD thesis and is currently co-supervising two PhD theses. She has been the supervisor of 14 TFM and 8 TFG and has been an associate professor at the UB for 18 years.
