Description

Geology is the science that explores the Earth, that removes its entrails to learn about the shocks and ravings that our planet experienced under the fullness of time. Since its origins, the human being has been attracted by the questions hidden in that flattened sphere that looks like a blue dot from space. And although curiosity and talent do not understand gender, official history has unapologetically omitted the contributions of fabulous women who not only faced the unknown, but also had to deal with stereotypes and social conventions.

With GEAS: Women Who Study the Earth, we will travel back in time to GIVE A VOICE TO 12 WOMEN GEOLOGISTS FROM DIFFERENT TIMES, HISTORICAL CONTEXTS AND NATIONALITIES, BUT WITH ONE COMMON DENOMINATOR: THEY LEFT AN INDELARABLE IMPRESSION ON THE LAYERS OF KNOWLEDGE.

Twelve women who challenged the society of their time to advance in the difficult and sacrificed path of Science. We will begin this journey with the misadventures of Mary Anning at the dawn of the 19th century; we will witness revolutionary advances in the 20th century and we will end up floating in space at the hands of Kathryn Dwyer, already in the 21st.
