The Sociedad de Hidrocarburos de Euskadi aims to diversify the sources of energy supply in the Basque Country, making efficient use of its own energy resources, mainly in the Basque-Cantabrian Basin, with all regulatory guarantees, in order to reduce dependence on external supplies from these sources in the Basque Country, to increase the security of the Basque energy system in the event of events affecting its normal operation, to increase competitiveness in the sector by bringing new sources of supply to the surface, to make the most of its own energy resources, which would have a significant pull effect on the Basque industrial fabric, and to contribute to the energy transition towards renewable energies.
