David Martí I hold a BSc in Physics (1998), MSc in Geophysics (2001) and PhD from the University of Barcelona. I have a postdoctoral experience of almost 20 years two of them carried out in an international institution such as Queen’s University (Kinston, Ontario, Canadá). Since beginning 2024, I’m Tenured Scientist at the CSIC, until February 2025 at Instituto Geológico y Minero de España (IGME-CSIC), and from March 2025 I moved to Geosciences Barcelona (GEO·BCN-CSIC), working as a geophysicist applied mainly to georesources, geoenergy and reservoir characterization. My expertise consists of the application of seismic methods, including controlled-source and passive seismic based on ambient noise, for the characterization and monitoring of the subsurface at different scales, and its seismic modelling. Furthermore, I’m also interested in the integration of seismic methods with other geophysical variables, aimed to improving the knowledge of the earth interior. I have participated in 25 research projects funded by the Spanish Government, but also European Comission, including Horizon Europe and EIT RawMaterials and private companies. Currently, I’m part of the Horizon Europe project AGEMERA (Agile exploration and geo-modelling for European Critical Raw materials), and the national projects EPYSIM (Eastern Pyrenees seismic imaging) and TEC-Heritage (Tecnologías en Ciencias del Patrimonio).
