The analytical and minerallurgical LABORATORIES of the IGME have advanced equipment for carrying out a wide range of chemical tests and analyses, such as chemical analysis of water, petrographic, geotechnical and mineral processing, carrying out the official characterization of natural mineral waters.
t performs a double function:
Preparation of solid samples, by crushing and grinding for chemical analysis or treatment processes.
Carrying out minerallurgical tests to support the investigation of new mineral treatment processes, on a laboratory and pilot plant scale, as well as the treatment of effluents for their subsequent discharge and/or use. Basically, tests for separation, concentration, ore leaching, aimed at obtaining concentrates and/or marketable products from the raw material. Classification and concentration techniques are applied that use specific differences in physical or chemical properties between the valuable mineral and the gangue minerals. The tests are based on gravimetric (granulometric classification, dense liquids, shaking tables), physical-chemical (flotation), magnetic, electrical and hydrometallurgical (leaching, solvent extraction) methods.
The request for analysis/tests must be sent to the email laboratorios@igme.es indicating the number of samples, the tests required for each of them and any other information that may be relevant for carrying out the requested determinations.
In the case of solid samples, it is necessary to indicate whether they will be sent already ground to analysis size.
Within an estimated period of 24-48 hours, the budget will be sent to the applicant, indicating the term for carrying out the analysis/tests and the amount of sample required.
As acceptance of the offer, the budget must be returned signed and sealed by the applicant, via email, to laboratorios@igme.es.
Sample shipping address:
Once the budget is accepted, the samples must be sent to the following address (it is not necessary to attach the documentation again)
Instituto Geológico y Minero de España, CSIC
Laboratorios Generales
C/ La Calera nº1, Tres Cantos
28760 Madrid
(Indicate reference of the accepted budget)
Results:
After completing the analyses/tests, the results will be sent via email to the applicant. The applicant must indicate in the initial request if the excess sample is required to be returned. In this case, the applicant must reply to the results email indicating the date on which the samples will be collected. As in the delivery, the samples will remain at the reception with the codes assigned to their reception and the applicant will be able to withdraw at any time within the opening hours of the center.
