Adriano Viana has more than 35 years of experience in the energy industry, with a diversified background on E&P and R&D activities in Petrobras. Presently, he is attached to the Exploration Department advising on the exploration of deepwater systems in different geological settings around the world. Previously, he leaded the re-launching of field training for geoscientists after the pandemic at the Petrobras Academy. He was also the manager of the Multiphysics Group at Exploration Dept., of the Applied Technologies and the Geological Special Studies teams of the Libra Project (Santos Basin pre-salt field), and of the Technological Program of Exploration Frontiers at the Petrobras R&D Center, CENPES. Formerly, Adriano was directly involved in the discovery of the pre-salt province. He was responsible for the implementation of the Marine Geology division in Petrobras in the late 1980’s. Adriano has a bachelor degree in Geology and PhD degree in sedimentology and marine geology.
