Research Group in Applied Hydrogeology and Shallow Geothermal Energy
Summary
The Group was created in November 2021. It carries out its activities through conventions and agreements with public administrations, technological support contracts and research projects, it is also responsible for updating, maintaining and operating the IGME Water Database and of the Mobile Hydrogeology Unit. It consists of 23 members.
It develops research in shallow geothermal energy, providing innovative solutions to face the challenge of global change and the ecological and energy transition. It is worth noting the transfer of knowledge in the field of groundwater to other public administrations, Private Law entities and society in general, as well as the improvement of territorial knowledge in areas of special interest for the development of applied research and resolution of specific hydrogeological problems. .
The theoretical development and practical application of aspects related to shallow geothermal energy as a contribution to the development of innovative solutions to face the great challenge of global change and the ecological and energy transition.
The preparation of official reports on various hydrogeological matters and especially on the risk of contamination to groundwater by discharges.
The maintenance, optimization, data collection and monitoring of hydrogeological observation networks and singular networks for the observation of groundwater.
