Licenciado
en Geológicas por la Universidad de Zaragoza en 2004 y doctorado por la
misma Universidad en 2009 (financiado por el gobierno de Aragón). Premio
de doctorado en 2010. En 2011-2012 fue investigador postdoctoral en el
Museo de Historia Natural de Londres y durante 2013 en el Museo Nacional
de Ciencias Naturales (Instituto Smithsonian) en Washington DC (USA)
donde continua colaborando como Investigador Asociado. Su investigación
se centra en el estudio de los Equinodermos fósiles Paleozoicos. A
partir del estudio de filogenias, micro-escáneres CT, morfometría y
estratigrafía secuencial trata de documentar como fue el origen y la
primera diversificación de los equinodermos. En 2013 obtuvo un Contrato
Ramón y Cajal del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad para
incorporarse al Museo Geominero (IGME) donde trabaja desde 2014. Su
trabajo se va a centrar en el estudio de los Equinodermos Paleozoicos
españoles para tratar de reconstruir su historia evolutiva en detalle. A
partir de los fósiles tratará de analizar como los equinodermos fueron
afectados por eventos críticos del Paleozoico como “La Explosión del
Cámbrico” y “El gran Evento de Diversificación Ordovícico”. Además de la
investigación propiamente dicha también desarrollará otros proyectos
relacionados con la divulgación de las Ciencias de la Tierra y la
protección del Patrimonio Paleontológico.
