SOME SPECIES OF ECHINOCYTHEREIS PURI, 1954 (CRUSTACEA, OSTRACODA) FROM THE TORTONIAN TO RECENT

Abstract

 

      Four species of Echinocythereis Puri, 1954 have been studied and illustrated. Two previously known species, that is E. echinata (Sars, 1866) and E. scabra (von Münster, 1830) are restudied and discussed. Two species, E. oertliana n. sp. from the Italian Tortonian, and E. vidua n. sp. from the Last Glacial of the Gulf of Naples, are introduced as new.

Resumen

     

      Se estudian e ilustran cuatro especies de Echinocythereis Puri, 1954. E. echinata (Sars, 1866) y E. scabra (von Münster, 1830) son revisadas, y se proponen dos nuevas especies, E. oertliana n. sp., del Tortoniense de los Apeninos septentrionales, y E. vidua n. sp., del Pleistoceno del Golfo de Nápoles.
